Australian Rules Football is an odd game.

At first, it looks like an organized fistfight over a ball.  Then, when one player manages to survive the kicking and punching and catch the ball, everyone is disinterested and walks away.... make up your minds!

Why do you want the government to fix global warming....

If you go through the drive-through window on a warm day?

Giving it up, giving it away decreases your mental burden.

As behavioural collectors, we tend to accumulate things.  Money, cars, furniture, clothes etc. Human suffering occurs when we try to protect the things we cherish.  The less we have to worry about, the happier we will be.

But in order to maintain our perspective, because things don't exist and they have no intrinsic meaning other than what we attach to them, we should also practice letting them go and giving things away.

As part of your daily routine, it would be wise to dispose an item - give it to charity, take a scrap of metal to the scrap yard, give it to your friends, and so on.

By letting things go, we remember that we can live without them, and we are not attached to them.

You can jump where you want to land...

or you can be pushed where you don't.

Mandatory Jail Terms for Bank Executives

If we want our financial system to treat the money held in deposit at banks seriously, then we need to demonstrate to bankers how careful they should be.

We should enact a law that requires mandatory  5 year jail terms for board of directors, presidents, and vice-presidents of all banking and financial institutions should that bank go bankrupt, insolvent, or collapse.

The consequences are serious, the punishment should be as well.

Research: always important

Research may not be relevant. But it is always important. Increasing knowledge is important to society. It's benefits will appear in some other field for some other purpose.
